Pastoral Prayer — Genesis: When God Says Come Home

Father, today we lift up those who are hurting, drifting, and in need of healing. We are a praying church, so we pause to pray for our church family, our community, and our nation.

Lord, I pray that You please heal the sick. Some in our church family were hospitalized recently and are undergoing treatment now. We continue to pray for Cliff Davis—thank You that he is home again. We pray for Mariposa and the test she needs. Bring healing, comfort, and strength to each of them, and let Your presence be felt wherever there is sickness.

Lord, we also pray for those carrying heavy burdens—depression, anxiety, cancer, addictions, and other afflictions. Even for those we do not know, we ask for Your healing, mercy, and intervention. You desire the best for us, so we submit these petitions to Your providence.

And Father, I ask that You give peace to the troubled. Your children need Your guidance in countless ways. We pray for those who need salvation—sons and daughters who have yet to trust You, and for every soul wandering without hope. We pray for estranged family members who need emotional healing, and we ask You to mend hearts, clear minds, restore love, and help those struggling to make ends meet.

We thank You for our military and their families, and ask for their protection, especially those in the Middle East. We know we enjoy freedom because they stand ready at the door.

We pray for the well-being of our town, state, and nation, especially as we enter another election cycle. Raise up leaders who will restore righteousness, justice, and truth—leaders unashamed to declare that we are One Nation under God. Protect us from evil principalities that seek to govern this land. Help restore our schools, our families, and the institutions that govern over us. We pray for the oppressed, enslaved, and trafficked.

Most of all, Father, we pray for those who need peace. We pray for the lost, the downtrodden, and the brokenhearted—those who need forgiveness, cleansing, and redemption. It is in Jesus’ name we pray, and all of God’s people said, Amen.
